HK Crime/Action Cinema Must Sees Pt.1
This is a little overdue and I’ve wanted to introduce my friends to some of my faviorite movies from HK.
Infernal Affairs 1, 2, and 3
Its the movie that inspired The Departed and as much as I love the directing in the remake I think the original is better by a good margin.
S.P.L. (Sha Po Lang)
Some of the best fight scenes in recent HK cinema with one my faviorite martial arts actors, Donnie Yen. His fights with fat man Sammo Hung are unbelievable and a little absurd, not to mention the craziness of Jing Wu. You’ve gotta see this movie!
Mad Detective
Here’s a strange concept and great story of a detective who sees all facets of a person as charicatures. Another must see and one of the more creative implementations of Chinese cultural ideas on sprituality and psychology.
I’ll post up more as I remember them. Open invitation for anyone who wants to do Chinese food take out and watch these movies all night!
